A show that will look back over the life and career of the actress from Porthmadog. She has been singing since she was a young girl and performed with Treflyn Jones in the duo 'Treflyn a Siwsan'. She performed on Disc a Dawn (BBC Wales) when she was ten years old. At the age of 14 she went for an audition with Cwmni Theatr Cymru. She was too young to start working but she was offered singing lessons with Betty Roberts, the wife of the company's director, Wilbert. After finishing school she went back to work with Cwmni Theatr Cymru.
In 1987 she performed on the program Codi Pais (HTV) - an entertainment programme including sketches and songs. The program broke new ground for women in comedy by combining the talents of Sue, Siw Hughes, Gillian Elisa and Eirlys Parri.
She was one of the main actors in the film Hedd Wyn, going to the Oscars and meeting a number of big Hollywood stars. She appeared in Twin Town playing Lucy Cartwright. In the 1990s she appeared in the Tv series Minafon, Y Pavlant Aur, Yr Heliwr before joining the cast of Pobol y Cwm to play Cassie Morris, who owned the Deri Arms with her husband Teg. After leaving the soap opera in 2003, she rejoined Pobol y Cwm at the end of 2018 with a story about scattering Mrs Mac's ashes.
The Deri wasn't the only imaginary pub she worked in as she played Megan Morgan - a barmaid in the Rovers Return (Coronation Street) with Alec Gilroy and Bet Lynch.
During the first half of the evening, Ieuan Rhys will ask Sue about her life and career, leaving the audience to question her in the second part.
Who knows maybe we'll get a few songs from Sue before the end of the night?
An enjoyable evening with one of Wales' busiest actors for a long time. A night to remember.
Audio description is a live commentary interspersed with the actors' dialogue. This is relayed via a headset linked to the infra-red audio system. There is a short 'programme notes' session, before the production, which explains the atmosphere, costumes, characters and action.
BSL
British Sign Language Performance
Signed performances are ideal for those who use sign language. Trained British Signed Language (BSL) signers usually stand to one side of the stage and interpret the script used by the performers at the same time as it is being performed.
R
Relaxed Screening/Performance
Open to everyone, but particularly appropriate for anyone who may find the usual theatre/cinema environment challenging, due to an Autism Spectrum Condition, a learning disability, or a fear of the dark, loud noises or confined spaces.
Relaxed Performances/Screenings provide a relaxed environment, where elements are adapted to reduce anxiety or stress. Lighting and sound levels are adjusted to soften their impact and there is a relaxed attitude to noise and leaving and re-entering the auditorium during the performance/screening.
Designated 'chill-out' areas are provided outside the auditorium with activities for people to use if being in the auditorium becomes overwhelming for them.
T
Touch Tour
A Touch Tour is ideal for blind and partially-sighted audiences to familiarise themselves with the set ahead of the performance.
C
Captioned Screening/Performance
Captions display dialogue on-screen (similar to subtitles) and also describe the audio or sound portion of a film/performance allowing audience members who are D/deaf or hard of hearing to follow the script and the action of the film/performance at the same time.
For live performances, the screen is positioned at the side of the stage.
